About

sor juana la joven

I am a Christian who writes. I write fiction, essays, and poetry.

I am a classical homeschool educator. My work lives at the intersections between Spanish and English, tradition and modern life, the solitude of the writing desk and the energy of the domestic lifestyle. With a background in Latin American Studies from UCLA and an MFA in Creative Writing from Mills College, I spend my days tending to the prose of living: investigating how memory shapes us, how language holds us, and how faith anchors us through every displacement we experience.

I write an occasional newsletter, Lovely Things (on Substack), which is a continuation of this contemplative rhythm. I offer field notes on faith through a bicultural perspective and cover themes of language, family, and other wonders. Sign up and join me there.

My other work is as a co-founding editor and contributor at Verbum & Virtue. You're welcomed to subscribe and join our new launch!
